Red pigment blooming through water

Protocol 32

The thirteen chains.

Ten pillars. Every chain, what goes in, what changes.

  • 13 Chains
  • 10 Pillars

Your body does not run on actives. It runs on chains.

A chain is a set of things that have to be there together. Your body runs each chain at the speed of the one thing in it you have the least of. Plenty of the rest does not help. It waits.

  • The OTP

    Five digits, or nothing.

Get five right and the payment does not go through eighty-three per cent. It fails.

  • A chain of four

    Collagen.

All three in supply, and your skin, cartilage and artery walls get rebuilt every day. Two out of four, and nothing gets built at all.

What Oxford proved

Same pills, same dose, opposite result.

Oxford gave older adults with mild memory impairment folic acid, B12 and B6 for two years, and scanned their brains at the start and the end. Then they split the same people by one thing nobody had thought to check: how much DHA was already in their blood.

In the people who already had DHA, brain shrinkage slowed by forty per cent. In those who had DHA and also high homocysteine, the ones the vitamins had the most to fix, it slowed by close to seventy. In the people low on DHA, the same three vitamins did almost nothing.

Nobody in that trial was given DHA. The vitamins only worked where DHA was already there. Same pills, same dose, opposite result, and one missing link decided it. That is a chain.

Oxford gave older adults with mild memory impairment folic acid, B12 and B6 for two years, then split them by how much DHA was already in their blood.

Where DHA was present, brain shrinkage slowed by forty per cent, and by close to seventy where homocysteine was also high. Where it was low, the vitamins did almost nothing.

Nobody was given DHA. The vitamins only worked where it was already there. That is a chain.

How much brain shrinkage slowed, by DHA in the blood

  • Already had DHA

    40%

  • Had DHA and high homocysteine

    70%

  • Low on DHA

    Almost nothing

Jernerén 2015, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Oulhaj 2016, Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease. 168 adults over 70, two years, MRI at start and end.

DHA is close to absent on an Indian vegetarian plate. It is the second active in this sachet, and the B vitamins that need it are numbers 29 to 32.

Ten pillars

What each one runs on.

Energy

10 ingredients
  • Riboflavin
  • CoQ10
  • Copper
  • Creatine
  • Magnesium
  • Folate
  • Vitamin B12
  • Vitamin B6
  • American Ginseng
  • Ashwagandha
  • Chain one

    The production line

    • Riboflavin
    • CoQ10
    • Copper

Energy production runs at full rate through the day instead of tailing off.

Your cells turn food into energy on an assembly line. Riboflavin starts it, CoQ10 carries the load across the middle, copper closes it. Run low on one and the whole line slows to its pace.

  • Chain two

    The instant battery

    • Creatine
    • Magnesium

Fast energy is there the second you reach for it.

The first ten seconds of any effort. Creatine holds the charge, magnesium releases it. Vegetarians carry the least creatine of anyone.

  • Chain three

Oxygen and the cells that carry it

    • Folate
    • Vitamin B12
    • Vitamin B6

Healthy red blood cells, so oxygen reaches the tissue that needs it.

These three are the co-factors red blood cells are built with. Less oxygen reaching the muscle, less energy in it.

  • Working alongside

    • American Ginseng
    • Ashwagandha
    • Magnesium

Less fatigue, lower cortisol, better tolerance of a heavy day.

What you will feel

The 4pm slump gets smaller. You stop needing the third coffee. Three to four weeks, and no stimulant, so there is no lift and no crash.

Brain

14 ingredients
  • Folate
  • Vitamin B12
  • Riboflavin
  • Vitamin B6
  • TMG
  • Choline
  • DHA
  • Creatine
  • Magnesium
  • Bacopa
  • Saffron
  • American Ginseng
  • L-Theanine
  • Astaxanthin
  • Chain one

    Clearing the waste

    • Folate
    • Vitamin B12
    • Riboflavin
    • Vitamin B6
    • TMG
    • Choline

Homocysteine cleared. One of the three markers we measure in your blood.

Your body makes this waste chemical every day, and high levels are linked to heart and brain aging. Clearing it takes all six at once: folate carries the tag, B12 hands it over, riboflavin switches folate into the form that can be used, B6 runs the disposal route that clears the load after meals, TMG opens a second route, and choline is what your body makes more TMG from.

  • Chain two

    Building the structure

    • DHA
    • Choline

Brain cell membranes built where signals cross, plus one of the main messengers focus and memory run on.

DHA is what the membrane is largely built from. Choline is what acetylcholine is made of. Structure and signal.

  • Chain three

    The instant battery

    • Creatine
    • Magnesium

Energy on demand for the organ that burns a fifth of your fuel.

Same battery as Energy, different organ. Your brain is 2 per cent of your weight and burns a fifth of your fuel. The difference shows most if you are vegetarian.

  • Chain four

Building what mood and focus run on

    • Vitamin B6
    • Folate
    • Vitamin B12

Serotonin and dopamine get the co-factors they are built with.

You do not swallow them. Your body builds them from amino acids, and these three run the enzymes that do it.

Working alongside

  • Bacopa
  • Saffron
  • American Ginseng
  • L-Theanine
  • Astaxanthin

Calmer focus, steadier mood, better recall over twelve weeks.

What you will feel

Less brain fog. The word you were reaching for arrives. You can hold a hard problem for an hour without your head going heavy. Two to three months, and most of all if you are vegetarian.

Stress, sleep and recovery

12 ingredients
  • Ashwagandha
  • Magnesium
  • Vitamin B6
  • Folate
  • Vitamin B12
  • DHA
  • Choline
  • L-Theanine
  • Saffron
  • Glycine
  • NAC
  • Riboflavin
  • Chain one

    Building what mood runs on

    • Vitamin B6
    • Folate
    • Vitamin B12

A calm brain gets the co-factors it needs to be calm.

The same three as the brain’s fourth chain, working on the same messengers.

  • Chain two

    Making and recharging glutathione

    • NAC
    • Glycine
    • Riboflavin

Your own repair antioxidant is made, used and refilled, instead of running empty under load.

NAC and glycine build it, riboflavin recharges it after use. Stress empties it fast.

  • Chain three

    Receiving the signal

    • DHA
    • Choline

The membrane every receptor sits in stays fluid, so signals land.

DHA keeps it soft. Choline supplies the messenger.

  • Working alongside

    • Ashwagandha
    • Glycine
    • Magnesium
    • L-Theanine
    • Saffron

Lower cortisol, easier sleep onset, less next day tiredness.

What you will feel

You fall asleep instead of lying there replaying the day. Small things stop landing as big things. Two to four weeks, and most people notice this one early.

Skin

9 ingredients
  • Vitamin C
  • Glycine
  • Copper
  • Zinc
  • Vitamin E
  • Astaxanthin
  • NAC
  • Riboflavin
  • Curcumin
  • Chain one

    Building collagen

    • Vitamin C
    • Glycine
    • Copper

    Collagen gets built and set.

Vitamin C runs the enzyme that sets it, glycine is every third link in the strand, copper cross links it. Run low on one and you build at its pace.

  • Chain two

    The antioxidant relay

    • Vitamin E
    • Vitamin C
    • NAC
    • Glycine
    • Riboflavin

Protection that regenerates itself instead of being spent once and gone.

Vitamin E takes the hit. Vitamin C recharges vitamin E. Glutathione, built from NAC and glycine and recharged by riboflavin, recharges vitamin C.

Working alongside

  • Zinc
  • Astaxanthin
  • Curcumin

Faster renewal, better elasticity and moisture.

What you will feel

Skin that looks less tired in photographs. Better bounce, less dullness. Eight to twelve weeks. Take a photograph on day one, because it is the only honest baseline you will get.

Digestion

10 ingredients
  • Bacillus coagulans
  • Lactase
  • Protease
  • Amylase
  • Ginger
  • Zinc
  • Glycine
  • NAC
  • Riboflavin
  • Boswellia
  • Chain one

    Making and recharging glutathione

    • NAC
    • Glycine
    • Riboflavin

Made, used and refilled in the gut lining.

Your gut lining replaces itself faster than almost any tissue in the body, and it burns glutathione doing it.

  • Working alongside

    • Bacillus coagulans
    • Lactase
    • Protease
    • Amylase
    • Ginger
    • Zinc
    • Boswellia

Food broken down properly, a lining kept supplied, and a probiotic that reaches the intestine alive, at the exact strain and count that was trialled.

What you will feel

Lighter after meals. Less bloating by evening. More regular mornings. About two weeks, and one of the few you actually notice.

Immunity

7 ingredients
  • Vitamin D3
  • Magnesium
  • Zinc
  • Copper
  • Vitamin C
  • Bacillus coagulans
  • Glycine
  • Chain one

    Switching the cells on

    • Vitamin D3
    • Magnesium

The vitamin D you swallow converts into the form your body uses.

The enzymes that switch it on need magnesium. Without enough of it, part of your vitamin D never does.

  • Chain two

Keeping zinc and copper in balance

    • Zinc
    • Copper

Zinc does its work without draining your copper.

Sustained zinc without matching copper depletes copper. Copper is in this formula because zinc is in this formula.

Working alongside

  • Vitamin C
  • Bacillus coagulans
  • Glycine

Immune cells supplied, and the gut wall, where most of your immune tissue sits, kept supplied too.

What you will feel

Nothing you can point to. Immunity is a system you keep supplied, not something you feel.

Joints

7 ingredients
  • Curcumin
  • Boswellia
  • Ginger
  • DHA
  • Vitamin C
  • Glycine
  • Copper
  • Chain one

    The matrix underneath

    • Vitamin C
    • Glycine
    • Copper

Cartilage is built from the same set that builds your skin.

One ingredient set, two tissues, no extra grams.

  • Working alongside

    • Curcumin
    • Boswellia
    • Ginger
    • DHA

A painful joint is a fire that burns along several paths. Turmeric alone covers one or two, which is why people try it alone and conclude it does not work. These four cover them.

What you will feel

If your knees are stiff for the first ten minutes of the morning, that window gets shorter. Six to eight weeks. If you have no stiffness now, you feel nothing, and that is what maintenance is. If a doctor has told you that you have arthritis, this is not a treatment for it.

Eyes

11 ingredients
  • Lutein
  • Zeaxanthin
  • DHA
  • Zinc
  • Copper
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin E
  • NAC
  • Riboflavin
  • Astaxanthin
  • Saffron
  • Chain one

    The filter

    • Lutein
    • Zeaxanthin

The pigment at the centre of your retina, complete.

Together they form the filter for the light that damages the retina. Zeaxanthin holds the centre, lutein the ring around it, so the filter is only complete with both.

  • Chain two

    The antioxidant relay

    • Vitamin C
    • Vitamin E
    • NAC
    • Riboflavin

Protection for the busiest tissue in your body, which also sits in light all day.

The same relay as skin, in the tissue that needs it most.

Working alongside

  • DHA
  • Zinc
  • Copper
  • Astaxanthin
  • Saffron

Structural supply for the photoreceptors, dim light vision, and retinal circulation.

What you will feel

Eyes less tired and heavy after nine hours on a screen. Headlights at night bother you less. A few weeks for the strain, months for the pigment, and the pigment you will never feel.

Heart and blood vessels

14 ingredients
  • Folate
  • Vitamin B12
  • Riboflavin
  • Vitamin B6
  • TMG
  • Choline
  • CoQ10
  • Magnesium
  • Copper
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin E
  • Glycine
  • DHA
  • Curcumin
  • Chain one

    Clearing the waste

    • Folate
    • Vitamin B12
    • Riboflavin
    • Vitamin B6
    • TMG
    • Choline

Homocysteine kept low in the blood that bathes the lining of every vessel you have.

The same reaction as the brain, working on a different tissue: the single layer of cells lining every blood vessel.

  • Chain two

    The production line

    • Riboflavin
    • CoQ10
    • Copper

Full energy production in the one muscle that never rests.

Heart tissue holds more CoQ10 than anything else in your body, and makes less of it every year.

  • Chain three

    The vessel wall

    • Vitamin C
    • Glycine
    • Copper

An artery that springs back after every beat.

The same three that build your skin build the elastic in the vessel wall, and copper cross links it.

  • Working alongside

    • CoQ10
    • Magnesium
    • Vitamin E
    • DHA
    • Curcumin

Heart muscle that relaxes properly between beats, and protection inside the lipoproteins that carry fat through your blood.

What you will feel

Nothing, and that is the point. This one works in silence for years. It is why we measure homocysteine in your blood instead of asking you to trust us.

Liver

8 ingredients
  • Choline
  • TMG
  • DHA
  • NAC
  • Glycine
  • Riboflavin
  • Milk thistle
  • Curcumin
  • Chain one

    Getting the fat out

    • Choline
    • TMG
    • DHA

Fat packaged and shipped out of the liver instead of stored in it.

Fat cannot leave your liver loose. It has to be packaged first, and choline is what the packaging is made of. TMG spares choline, and DHA turns the liver’s fat making down and its fat burning up. Fat that stays behind is what a fatty liver scan shows.

  • Chain two

    Making and recharging glutathione

    • NAC
    • Glycine
    • Riboflavin

Phase two detoxification keeps running, and the pool refills after every use.

Everything you eat, drink and take passes through here.

Working alongside

  • Milk thistle
  • Curcumin

Membrane stability and a lower inflammatory load.

What you will feel

Nothing at all, ever. This one shows up in a blood test and nowhere else, and it is the one you would never know was working.

A woman outdoors with her face turned toward the sun

Aging is inevitable.
Getting weaker is optional.

We would rather be measured than believed. Every dose published, every rupee printed, every ingredient we refused listed with its reason.
